This is the first entry for Brokeback Mountain Vermont.

I have been so busy with this site and many other things that I didn't have the time to start this blog sooner. It would have been nice to be able to fully document this endeavor from the very first day. Nevertheless, most of the entries would have been boring anyway as they would have consisted of ramblings about administrative stuff and mountain searches.

The idea for Brokeback Mountain, Vermont is described on our website at http://www.brokebackmountainvermont.com so there is no need for me to explain it here again.

I am absolutely passionate about this cause. To name a Mountain here in Vermont as Brokeback would be an honor for me and I intend to do everything that I can to make it come to pass. The email and message support, as well as some phone calls, from around the world for this idea has been overwhelming. My only concern is the need for more people to actually get involved in trying to locate the appropriate mountain. It's been hard doing that part of this project mostly by myself.

More entries will follow here as I have the time to do them.

Go for it! Don't stop until a mountain is named for this incredible movie. This will let people know how much this movie is loved, and also make the Academy look like a bunch of rear ends. All the other 49 states will be watching you. Make us proud! Go Vermont...lead the way!

John I think it is just a great idea. If I didn't live in Southern New Jersey and work a lot of hours I would rush up up to help you. I see a lot of Signatures on the petition from people in Vermont. I urge them to get in touch with you and give you a hand. So many people are now hoping this happens. Best of Luck.
