Report On My Mountain Research Trip To Vermont's Northeast Kingdom

Here's my report on todays trip:
I left Burlington a few hours later than I had planned which of course made me very late in arriving at my destination. The drive was about 40-50 miles from Burlington. When I arrived at the mountains in the Northeast Kingdom, I found the place of business that I was looking for, to find the owner, but it was already closed. I attempted to call the owner on the phone but my Cingular/Unicel phone had no service and my Verizon phone had intermittent signal (two bars) on an analog system and I was unable to make any calls. I drove down the road about 4 miles and was able to get a signal but wasn't able to reach the person I needed to see. I went back near the place of business and asked neighbors where I could find the business owner but no one knew where he lived.
While at the mountains I took a short walk up a path but came back because it was still quite muddy. I drove down the road once again and did find the access road that would be used by the public, if this mountain was chosen, but at that time the gate was closed and locked. I drove again the four miles to get a cell phone signal but got the person's voicemail. I decided to head back home at that point.
I was nearly back home when I was able to contact the business owner who had been gone doing errands not knowing whether or what time I was coming today (my fault as I didnt call him in advance). He asked if I could come tomorrow but I am not sure if I will be able to so I may have to re-schedule.
Below are several pictures taken with my camera phone. Apparently the camera sucks because the photos are not of good quailty. These photos were taken as I was on my way home and as an afterthought as I had forgotten to get the photos while I was right there.
The first two photos are of the mountains I was supposed to see but was taken after I was well past them so they don't project a real sense of what the mountain is like.
The third photo is one that was taken the other day on my last mountain research trip but that mountain already has a name :-( Sorry about the crappy camera

John....let that be a lesson to you! Call ahead! Too bad you missed out on a meeting with the land-owner. Hope you can reschedule soon. I promise not to keep you on the forum so long on the next scheduled trip's day!
Nice mountain, nice "high point" standing separate from the surrounding peaks. Good long view too it seems.
So this land-owner is aware that in naming this mountain, it will also draw some hikers and visitors, who will then be crossing and on the private property. Hope the land-owner understands this and will allow it.
Look forward to more updates here and there at the forum.
